Whakainaka project.

IMG_1131.JPG
We are a part of a city wide project to protect our whitebait.. It is called the whakainaka project. Inaka is the Ngai Tahu word for whitebait.
We go out on Wednesday afternoon to Anzac Drive where the old Kate Sheppard rest home used to be. We check five sites for pests.
We put peanut butter cards on the posts and when we come back we look to see if they have been eaten.  In the picture above you can see it has been chewed at the bottom by a hedgehog or maybe a rat.

Passions !!!!!!!

This year every Friday we do passions.
We choose one of the many subjects available or make our own, subjects include: Parkour, hip hop, comics, cooking, art and many more.

Some subjects have tutors e.g. Parkour has Jacob who comes and teaches parkour professionally and safely

The art group have asked Helen to help out with art and are making a mural for the school.

And Kelsi comes in and helps with cooking.

Passions is a fun part of the week because we get to something we are passionate about.
