Marvellous maps - Tuesday Challenge

LEARN: Below are a series of maps made by artists to represent imaginary worlds. The Wizard of Oz, Alice in Wonderland, Winnie the Pooh, Neverland, Under the Mountain, Harry Potter.

TALK: How do you make a map of an imaginary world? Find the movie or the book that accompanies one of these maps and watch/read it. How well has the artist done?

CREATE: Choose your own favourite movie. One you know really well, perhaps even one you were obsessed with when you were a little kid.

1. Draw a map of the world from the movie.
2. Include places where all the big things happen.
3. Map any important journeys that happen.
4. Add small details that only a real expert would include.
5. Add a key so that non-experts can work out the story and use it to understand things better.
